Leadership is Aroha requires for your dog to:
be registered with the local Council and have a current tag on their collar;
have your dog fully vaccinated, including Bordetella Kennel Cough, all vaccinations need up to date.
be de-wormed and de-fleed, this needs to be up to date and any sickness/health issues on arrival needs to be notified.
to be on a lead at all times unless advised otherwise.
Leadership is Aroha must be notified of any pre-existing medical or behavior conditions ahead of the first consultation. In particular, any aggression issues towards humans, dogs or other animals.
Leadership is Aroha must be notified if your female dog is in season ahead of the planned session.
Leadership is Aroha will take every responsibility and precaution with your dog and will treat it with the love and care she treats her own dog; however it is the responsibility of the owner to have the dog insured for injury.
All handler are encouraged and advised to commit to the course or class 100%. If there is a reason that you’re unable to commit then you need to advise the head trainer. See clause on Cancellations.
Missing classes puts you and your dog at a considerable disadvantage, 100% commitment is encouraged.
The minimum age of the handler to train a dog is 15 years of age. Handlers between 15 y/o and 17 y/o will need to be assessed for suitability of the class and/or course.
Changing handlers during a course or class is not permitted. The handler who starts on the field, even the fist time, is to finish the course or class.
It’s also important that when you return for the following course or class the same person goes up with the dog. A change of handler is not permitted from course to course or class to class unless the new handler passes the assessment and/or the discretion of the head trainer.
Cancellation: if for some reason you need to cancel your class and/or course please understand that we require at least 48 hours notice for the cancellation/changes to your booking, less than this and you will still be charged for the next 48 hours notice.
Handlers must not walk through or too close to a class still working when arriving and or leaving. This can upset some dogs.
We encourage to use food and/or toys for training.
You must watch your own dog and remain in control at all times.
Do no approach another dog without speaking to the other handler first.
NEVER approach a dog which is tied up. Not all dogs are approachable and friendly.
Fighting between dogs and/or owners is not tolerated.
Failure to comply with the Leadership is Aroha trainer and/or assistant trainers instructions, displaying disruptive behavior or unnecessary arguing during class or course time will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the class. No refunds will be provided.
No intoxicated person/s will be permitted in a training class.
Suitable equipment: a leather or webbing lead at least 1 meter long. Suitable soft or moist treats for your dog.
Suitable clothing and footwear, come dressed for any weather. No umbrellas, no jandals, no high heels, no sandals or bare feet are allowed. No sunglasses are permitting to be worn during training.
You must clean up after your dog and should carry a plastic bag at all times.
Weather: we train in all weather conditions, unless informed otherwise by head trainer/Leader is Aroha. 100% attendance is required for the duration of the course.
Photographs and/or videos: no photography or videoing is allowed during any of the classes in any of the levels unless permission is given from the head trainer or Leadership is Aroha.
If so some reason the dogs play together we have to keep in mind that some forms of dog communication includes growing and snapping/biting and that dogs do occasionally snap/fight.
If for some reason dogs play together, we have to keep in mind that dogs play with their mouths and feet and this sometimes results in scratches on dogs.
Any damages or vet bills incurred by my dog (either my own dog or inflicted on another dog by my dog) will be paid for upon collection/departure of my dog.
